If not now, then when? Nothing exists outside of the moment you are in. If you want to get something started, then you need to start it now.
If you were looking for a sign, this is it.
There is no perfect time, place or way. The best you can ever do, is to just do. Obstacles be damned. Nay-sayers be damned. Negative self talk be damned.
Just get your ass in gear and do what needs to be done. You need to start before you can finish.

So next time you’re about say you “just don’t have the motivation” to follow through with a long term goal you proclaim you want… rethink it. Correct yourself. Replace ‘motivation’ with ‘dedication.’ You “just don’t have the dedication.”
Sounds less like a legitimate excuse and more like a cop-out, doesn’t it?
That’s because it is.
You don’t need motivation to do anything. It is not a requirement in life. It helps, but it’s not necessary.
