“Is the bread you made Jewish or Portuguese?”
-Anonymous

Challah bread is Jewish. It’s also known as Sabbath bread. Often times it is put into a braid before it’s baked and called a braided loaf.

Portuguese bread has a yellow-orange color to it from all the egg yolks, butter and vanilla in it and it has a very shiny “skin” on top. It still has my vote, but both are delicious and both are considered sweet breads.
