Your opinion on the “Double Workout”

Do you consider a day with 45+ minutes of cardio and weights/strength a “double” day or is this just how you normally operate?

I never really considered it too much. Not for me. Not anymore. Maybe a year ago it would have killed me, but now? Now it’s normal. Maybe I need to push harder to make myself feel like I want to die again?

I dunno… I guess I’m just looking for some outside insight.

  • Double workout or no?
  • Do you do it every time you workout or just a a couple of times per week?
  • Do you lower intensity on a double workout day, or do you still do the same distance/time/reps/sets?
  • Do you find your DOMS is worse or the same after a double workout?
  • Do you prep for a double workout by murdering your water more than normal?

I guess I’m asking because I treat a double workout just like any other day. Some people are all “wooooo!!! kill it!!!!” and other people do the wonky twisted face with the lip-sneer like I’m insane. So… which is it for you?

  2. butilovechocolate answered: That’s pretty usual for me…I would only consider a day a double workout day if I did two totally separate workouts
  3. mockingjayrose answered: Double workout: Yes
  4. drjoewood answered: Brian Mckenzie’s site, Crossfit Endurance is BIG on the “double workout”. I am more of a “Effective” and “Effecient” stablity type person.
  5. runningtowardlife answered: Nope, I think it’s a normal workout and something like that is good to do 2-3x/week (lifting first, then cardio in same “session”).
  6. ellas-fit-diary answered: I normally do cardio and strength on one day. But strenght for just some body parts. The other day cardio and strength for other bodyparts.
  7. originalmusicbymatteddy answered: i’m trying to lose body fat so i generally have cardio days and then weight/cardio days. i do the same amount of cardio whatever the day :)
  8. runningforme83 answered: this is normal for me - i tried to pair my cardio with weights at least 3 days/week, and cardio alone on the others.
  9. nesira answered: I do 10 minutes of cardio and lift, I rarely do 45 min of straight cardio. I think you are dedicated, go hard girl :)
  10. nostarvingbutfit answered: I always do a double workout. Okay not ALWAYS but pretty much yes. It´s just easier that way,I´m already at the gym so I might as well doboth
  11. to-witness-my-fitness answered: I don’t consider that a double day, haha. that’s a pretty stereotypical workout for me, actually.
