I’m glad to know it may have helped in any way. It does suck. I don’t know about you, but it makes me feel like I’m weird. I don’t really try to hide it, but if it ever comes up (like when I beg for an even number of M&Ms or Skittles) everyone laughs at it. I feel like such a fruit cake sometimes. =/
December 2011
Oh wow! That IS inconvenient. But, it makes me think you have super powers. Like in Mystery Men… he could be invisible, but only if no one was looking at him.

Are you a super hero?
I have to count my chews and I have to have equal amounts of food on both sides of my mouth or I can’t eat. It’s weird, I know!
I understand completely. My actual OCD isn’t visual neatness, but it’s how I have to chew. Have to. Or else I don’t eat. I have to count my chews and I have to have equal portions on both sides of my mouth. A tooth ache is pretty much the end of my eating world until I get it fixed.
Don’t fret on what the “tumblr-experts” have to say. Unsolicited opinions weigh us down more than they should, so don’t let them. Keep on keeping on.
And if you ever need to talk to someone about your PTSD, I’m here. I know more about it than I would like to. Service overseas can really mess a person up. You know where to find me.

meh not to be one of those people but OCD is not just about wanting things to be neat… that’s how everyone is. Actual OCD is awful.
I have an actual OCD. It’s a mild (albeit very strange) chewing OCD. I hate it.
YAAAAY!!! It’s not just meeeeeee!!!!!!!! ::happy hugs::
My friends (lovingly) mock me for it whenever they stay over. I’ll make them all breakfast and they aren’t even done eating and I have the dishes already washed and put away. Having a clean house with subdued colors makes me calm and keeps me sane.
But my real OCD is not cleaning related, it’s eating related. >_< It’s so weird.
I don’t like decorating for the holidays. Well… okay, that’s not entirely true. Lets just say I have expensive taste when it comes to Christmas decorations… so I’d rather not decorate at all than have (what I think of as) tacky trinkets all over my house.
When I was a kid (hell, even still now) my mother hung up the little cardboard cutouts all over the windows and doors and had plastic light-up decorations everywhere. I never liked it. She had one elegant ceramic tree with built in glass lights and I loved it. The only bit of holiday decor that I liked. The rest made me cringe. I suppose I don’t mind when it’s someone else’s house… but I don’t want it in my own.
Even my tree is “themed” to fit my house. I decorate with silver and gold and all my gifts are wrapped with silver and gold themes. I have this insane vision of making my house look like it belongs in better homes and gardens magazine. So far, I’ve don’t a nice job, I even put in my own hard wood and ceramic tile floors (all by my self. F tile. Seriously. I will never lay tile again…) I’m slightly obsessed about the way I keep my house and if things aren’t neat, and (in my opinion) classy, I get twitchy.
This concludes today’s WBF.
Looking to work specific muscles?
Only have access to a small amount of equipment?
Have no idea how the heck to do an exercise?
Check out this website with animated examples of how to do different exercises. I have found this to be invaluable to me when I need to replace one exercise with another due to equipment. It has also helped me with figuring out form for some new exercises.
It’s really funny you mentioned this, I JUST finished watching a video about abs here.
And it’s true. Abs are definitely “made in the kitchen.” All the crunches in the world will not get rid of the layer of subcutaneous fat, only a change in diet will. Depending on your body type, it could be really easy for you or really difficult. Pear shaped women usually lose belly fat easier than apple and banana shaped women (Why are we all shaped like fruit? I want know whose bright idea that was…)
Personally, I am going to try hunkering down and really following the LiveFit program to the T. Everyone who has followed it has shown AMAZING results. It’s a 12 week program and all the exercises and food (and times you should be eating) are all listed out for you. No wondering, no thinking, no stressing over what to eat, what supplements to take or what body part you’re going to work out. But it really requires dedication and prep time.
I am going to restart the program Monday and this time I will be following the diet as well as the strength training. (But, I’m going to run even though she says not to. If I don’t run I turn into a Honey Badger.) I will post updates every week so if you don’t want to dive right in you can read my personal experience with it and you should definitely read up about it online. Look for the good comments, but try and find complaints and really look into why it didn’t work for those people. Get all the info you can and then decide if it’s something you would be interested in. But I’m relatively certain that this program, if followed as written, will give you great results.
All you need is 12 weeks! (How long is it before beach weather?!)
Cheers,
~Bonnie
Oh, and as an aside: I got your photo message but your ask is broken so I couldn’t write to you. You are stunningly beautiful and have no reason to lack confidence. Rock it, girl.
If I ever get rich I am hiring a dietitian/cook to make sure I eat right (and enough) so I can get the Jamie Eason look. I haven’t been dedicated enough lately to follow exact diets and it’s evident in my results. Stronger? Yes. Less body fat? Mmmmm… Not so much.
The worst part is: she has listed everything to eat for the day. I mean… It’s there… The work is done for me. I really should just cook everything on the weekend for the whole week and get down to the nitty gritty with my training. It works - the results are obvious. Everyone who follows her plan gets the results but you have to follow it exactly.
In the end it’s all about the dedication and if I don’t have it, I won’t see the results. I hate saying “tomorrow” or “Monday” or anything like that sounds remotely like an excuse… but my priorities are set for school first and I really, REALLY hate the idea of ever saying “when I graduate” because there will always be something to work around. SO!! I’m going to start really looking into doing all the cooking/baking on Saturday and Sunday and just prepare everything in tubs and zip locks for the week.
Suck it up, Bonnie… Get this shit done. That “ab protector” is not going to stay there forever, I swear it.
November 2011
Normally… I’m like scissors: no one wants to run with me but today I got a text from a friend of mine who’s getting into shape and he asked to run with me tomorrow. He just did his first 5k and he said he had to walk the whole second half, but he want’s to be able to run the whole thing. I’m quite certain that he’s just starting out too fast and exhausting himself. I’m going to try and pace him so that his average minute for the run will = the average time for his full run/walk in the 5k. So that should put us at an 11.5 minute mile.
He really wants to do this and I am really happy to help. Since he wants to run the whole thing (even if it’s slow) I am penalizing him if he walks by making him drop and do burpees and/or 8-counts. I figure maybe the threat of those two hellish exercises will keep him motivated to keep moving.
Anyway, I’m always glad to suck another person into the running world. :D It makes me happy to share my happy and make other people happy.
WOOOO! Happy overload!! :D
This is bloody BRILLIANT!!!! You definitely win my favorite person of the day award, because this is awesome. AWESOME!!!
Everyone, seriously… go read this. Especially if you’ve ever been the “fat kid.”
It’s windy and cool today in MA but I’m sitting outside of the science building anyway. The sun is bright and I’m soaking up my vitamin D since I’m not running today.
So that leads me to my question: vitamin D. Do you take supplements in the winter? Have you seen a change in your mood, sleep schedule and attitude? What are your thoughts and experiences?
Hey Little Dreamer Girl: Your ask link is broken.
Your photo is stunning and if I were you, I would have more confidence than I knew what to do with!!!
Well, thank you for making my night!! <3 :D
Oh, and if you’re interested in playing with your photo’s, Gimp is the free program that I use. (downloadable here)
