My inability to deal with a potential suicide of...
My heart aches. I need to run. I need to run away. To run anywhere  Or no where. To give my heart a reason to hurt. So the only pounding I feel Is when my feet hit the ground. So shut up you stupid heart Or I’ll give you a reason to cry. And eyes if you want to cry too Let the cold night air be your excuse. Run run run away Cleanse my worried mind Take me on a journey To someplace...

The Dirty Truth About Muscle Confusion →
I’m really glad someone is better than me at explaining this. I tend to just get annoyed by arguments and walk away with a wave of my hand. Read this. ALL of it. The fact that this is being preached by people with so-called “degrees” in fitness blows my mind. My university has several fitness degrees available and all of them require that you take anatomy and physiology. And our...

Spaghetti Squash Lasagna.
This is my personal recipe that I sort of invented but I’m sure others have also invented. (It’s not what I call terribly original but I really enjoy it, so I thought I would share.)  Ingredients: 1 large spaghetti squash 15oz jar of non fat ricotta cheese 2 large hand fulls fresh baby spinach half tub of mushrooms (of your choice) 2 green onions Spaghetti sauce (of your...

Post workout shake (of delicious goodness)
I like to have protein after I lift weights, so I usually invent some crazy smoothie/shake/drink for myself. They are always a success, but today’s was more successful than others. Which is to say, I want to have it every damn day. (Sorry, no real measurements.) Unsweetened vanilla almond milk  2 heaping teaspoons of unsweetened all natural cocoa powder 2 heaping teaspoons of raw,...

Writing papers...
I love learning. It makes me happy to learn new things. It makes me even happier when those things interest me. But right now, this damn paper is making me regret ever going back to school. The study was conducted by the students, but designed by the professors and I have to tell you, it was very, VERY poorly designed. A good experiment has only ONE variable. Adding more variables doesn’t...

el60days-deactivated20111218 asked: Hey, your post about trans fat sparked an interest in me because I don't know much about it. So I googled and found this quote "The ANZFS says consumption of trans fat is low compared to saturated fat, which means saturated fat is more of a problem to the health of Australians." What is your opinion?

I'm trying now though, and your posts have always been very helpful. So whatever possessed you to make a tumblr, thank you, and whatever helped me find it, thank you. I'll definitely keep in touch as I go through this. <3

Anonymous asked: Hey there, I use to be a serious runner, about 5 times a week. I use to love having incredibly strong legs but then I hit a wall of depression and anxiety and did the complete opposite of what I should have done and stopped exercising. I'm trying to get back into it, but I seriously can't even hold a wall sit for more than 10 seconds, makes me upset =/. I don't remember starting out...

Jamie Eason's Live Fit 12 week training program... →
Here is the link to phase 1. I’m not following it yet because I am reluctant to trade off my BodyRock workouts, but I may need some change real soon. I’m not a fan of following exact diets, but this one is a standard for most competitors, so I am rather confident that it will work.

WOD from last night
I forgot to post it. Actually, I’ve been really bad about posting my WOD’s this past week. Midterms have had a firm grip around my mind, ugh. (Premed is internesting and difficult. Can I just be a natural brainiac instead of just having to study like normal people? Having an super smart Autist for a study partner makes me feel constantly inferior…) BodyRock workout again and...

Outside Motivation
My neighbor saw me outside skipping rope (dripping with sweat, huffing and puffing) and she told me I was an absolute inspiration. It was nice to hear someone tell me they could see a change in my figure. She reassured me that since she doesn’t see me very often that she can see a big difference and that because of me, she has started working out again.  I was so happy! I gave her my second...

WHY Don’t feel like downing a gallon of Gatorade? You don’t have to. According to a study in the April 2010 Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, runners who rinsed their mouths with a carb solution right before and every 15 minutes during hour-long treadmill sessions ran faster and about 200 meters farther than those who rinsed with a placebo. “Carbs trigger reward...

Trail mix
I am never allowed to make trail mix again. Ever. I make it too yummy and I just want to sit around eating it until my stomach explodes. Soooo goooooood. Grrrr. In other news, I need to cook less good, because once again I have blown myself away with how yummy supper was.  Maybe I should have been a chef…
