I’m a 30 something runner, fitness freak, pretend philosopher, biologist in training, gamer, vegetarian, ex-military, highly motivated geek.
I’m a premed student at Bridgewater State University with a graduation date of May 2013. I am looking into becoming a high school biology and chemistry teacher, but I am also considering research.
I did 4 years in the US Navy as a trained and certified hydraulics mechanic. I also worked on the steam engine and I trained the department in casualty response. I have been all over the world but saw mostly grey walls the whole time I traveled. The Navy turned me into a self-sufficient woman, but also into an asshole. I have no tolerance for fools or bullies: I will punch first and ask questions later. I own guns and know how to use them. I ride a motorcycle and I drink and swear like… well… like a sailor. I have recently quit drinking (it’s really hard to stay hydrated for exercise if you drink) and I have never been a smoker.
My goal is to be strong and healthy and to look good while I do it. I would also like to be able to crush a man’s head with my thighs. Whatever weight that may be, I don’t care. I love fitness and exercise: it has become my escape from stress.
I went vegetarian (pescatarian, to be honest) in September of 2010 and lost 30 pounds just from adjusting my diet. I do not “follow a diet program.” I eat healthy, I eat regularly (every 3 hours) and I drink tons of water. There is an absolute minimum of added sugar in my food and I don’t drink juice or soda. I find this has helped with my fat loss but my sugar cravings have increased 1 thousand fold.
I love running and it all started with one little 12:30 mile and I have since completed a 1/2 marathon in September, many 5k and 10k races as well as mud races. I hope to run a marathon at some point in my life… We shall see.
I have never been thin, but thin is not my goal: I want to be muscular and defined. I want to see my abs and not have to poke for them through the fat.
I love pushing myself to my limit then giving more. Endorphin’s are my drug of choice and I get irritable if I go too long without working out or running.
I am 100% geek. I love video gaming (FPS’s and RPG’s) table top gaming, MtG, sci-fi fantasy and science. I read comic books and biology books with equal enthusiasm.
I am not a professional and any advice I offer on this page is not to be taken as such. I will always offer insight, but anything you read on the internet should be taken with a certain level of skepticism. Even from me. Always talk with a physician, dietitian or otherwise certified person to verify anything you may read here or anywhere.
